A German doctor has advocated the benefits of heat therapy for destroying mutated cells.

Some people are too sick to be able to generate a fever, which is one ways the body eliminates diseases and detoxifies the body.

Dr Peter Wolf of the Center for Hyperthermia in Hannover has been running a clinic for 20 years.

Tumors in patients are pinpointed with clinical equipment that focuses on specific points in the body.

Overheating cells above 39.5 degrees C can destroy tumors or slow their growth, Dr Wolf said.

He said cancer cells had developed escape mechanisms, which enable them to hide or sent out immuno-suppressing messages.

"Orthodox medicine with its chemotherapy and radiation cannot combat these escape phenomena very well," Dr Wolf explained.

Fevers also trigger the production of more white blood cells, antibodies and other infection fighting agents by the body’s immune system, giving people a winning edge.
