Some vegetables have anti-aging propertiesIn what may seem like a strange way to promote her business, a Phoenix plastic surgeon has released a cookbook touting certain foods with anti-aging qualities.

Dr Heidi Rengeass’ Anti-Aging Cookbook provides recipes that combine healthy food choices that can offer a healthy lifestyle while "promoting external beauty."

"We have to use the power of our food ingredients to slow down the aging process. Antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients all play a significant role in our health, which also reflects in the severity of our fine lines and wrinkles and our skin elasticity," said Renegeass.

Though the doctor doesn’t release any of her recipe ideas in the press release, anti-aging superfoods have been widely reported in the past.

People who add at least two cups of fruits and vegetables a day to their diet can increase their beta-carotene intake, which can lead to healthy skin and eyes, as well as reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease, More.com reports. Tomatoes are also a good source of the antioxidant lycopene, which can deter the body from premature aging.ADNFCR-2035-ID-18960646-ADNFCR
