If you have a health problem there is a good chance that you are acidic. Too much acidity can decrease your body’s ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients… speed the aging process … decrease the energy production in your cells… decrease your body’s ability to repair damaged cells… decrease its ability to detoxify heavy metals… fuel tumor cells’ survival… and leave you more susceptible to fatigue and illness.

The pH, or “potential of hydrogen,” is a measure of the relative acidity or alkalinity of a solution on scale of zero to 14. A pH of 7 is perfectly neutral, from zero to 7 indicates acidity, and from 7 to 14 indicates alkalinity. For balanced body chemistry, you should maintain a pH level between 7 and 7.5.

However, most Americans fall in the acid range of 6.2 to 6.4, mainly because the typical Western diet is highly acidic—the reverse of what it should be. If you switch to 80 percent alkaline foods and only 20 percent acid foods, and drink eight 8-ounce glasses of alkaline water daily, you can achieve the pH level your body needs to promote good health and help prevent disease. It’s easy to make alkaline-forming vegetables a part of your diet, such as…

  • Artichokes
  • Asparagus (green tips)
  • Beans
  • Bell peppers
  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Garlic
  • Leafy greens
  • Okra
  • Onion

And don’t forget to include apples, apricots, avocados, bananas, all berries, cantaloupe, cherries, grapes, lemons, limes, tomatoes, buckwheat, fresh coconut, goat milk, almonds, chicken breast, eggs, tofu, yogurt, apple cider vinegar, green tea and herbs of all kinds. Plus there are many other delicious and healthy choices that can help tip the scales of your body’s chemical balance to alkalinity.

“There is no such thing as natural death. All deaths from so-called natural causes are merely the endpoint of progressive acid saturation,” said surgeon George W. Crile, M.D. But you can change your body chemistry by changing your diet… and you’re almost certain to see a huge improvement in your health in only one year or less.
