An Easy Way to Calculate A Healthy Weight
By Dr. Michael Cutler • Aug 13th, 2008 • Category: General Health, Healthy Living, Weight Loss, Weight ManagementHave you ever wondered what your target weight should be? Here is an easy way to calculate it. Just take your height over five feet in inches, multiply by five, and add 110 if you’re a woman, and 120 if you’re a man.
For example, if you are a 5’5″ woman, take the five inches, multiply them by five to get 25. Then add 110 and you get 135 pounds as your ideal weight. Don’t worry—even if you are over by about 5 percent or so, you should still be okay! Just be sure to monitor your blood pressure levels and get regular check-ups!
