Dr Cutler’s Whole Food Recipes…
By Dr. Michael Cutler • Aug 20th, 2008 • Category: Healthy Living, Weight Management, Whole Food NutritionHere’s a quick and easy (and cool!) recipe the whole family will enjoy.
Chocolate Cashew Ice Cream
- 2 cups raw cashews
- ½ cup fresh squeezed apple or orange juice
- ¾ cup (or less) Grade B maple syrup
- 1 cup almonds, coarsely chopped
- 3 Tbsp carob powder
Place all ingredients except almonds into a blender and blend until smooth. Toss in the chopped almonds and stir by hand. Pour the contents into an ice cream maker and blend until ready. Enjoy!
EXTRA TIP: Carob powder is a great substitute for chocolate or cocoa powder in ALL your favorite recipes. When using the carob, add 3 tablespoons for each square of chocolate that your recipe calls for. When replacing cocoa, simply use the same amount of carob powder.
