Stress may be a possible cause of eczemaIt now appears the economy is being blamed for certain skin conditions as well.

A Canadian survey found emotional factors, which include stress, were reported to be the most common reason for flare-ups in three out of four eczema sufferers.

The finding prompted researchers to include stress in the list of triggers of the chronic skin condition that can affect a person’s concentration and sleep habits.

Dr Marlene Dytoc, a Canadian dermatologist, developed the national online survey of eczema sufferers that was conducted by the Eczema Awareness, Support and Education Program.

The doctor said the winter season, with its chilly dry air and indoor heating, can dehydrate the skin and cause flare-ups to occur more frequently.

Also revealed in the survey was that 36 percent of adults attempt to conceal their condition in public, which may cause added stress in the person’s life.

While economies around the world continue to suffer, more people are reporting stress from financial hardships or lost employment. Some people have turned to nutritional supplements to reduce stress and improve their overall health.ADNFCR-2035-ID-19021431-ADNFCR
