The USGS collected water samples from 932 public wells in 41 states across the nation for their findings. Scientists tested water samples for 337 properties and chemical contaminants, including nutrients, radionuclides, trace elements, pesticides, solvents, gasoline hydrocarbons, disinfection by-products and manufacturing additives.

Findings showed that naturally occurring impurities, such as radon and arsenic, accounted for about three-quarters of contaminant concentrations greater than human-health benchmarks in untreated source water.

Man-made contaminants were also found in untreated water sampled from the public wells, including herbicides, insecticides, solvents, disinfection by-products, nitrate, and gasoline chemicals. Man-made contaminants accounted for about one-quarter of contaminant concentrations greater than human-health benchmarks, but were detected in 64 percent of the samples.

Treated drinking water from public wells is regulated under the Safe Drinking Water Act. Water utilities, however, are not required to treat water for unregulated contaminants. The EPA uses USGS information on the occurrence of unregulated contaminants to identify contaminants that may require drinking-water regulation in the future.

About 105 million people in the U.S. receive their drinking water from public water systems that rely on groundwater pumped from public wells.

At Ryerson University, scientists have been studying the levels of mercury in the air in Toronto because of concerns that after the chemical becomes airborne, it will settle into water supplies and food sources.

Compared to less populated areas, Dr Julia Lu and her research team found that mercury concentrations were higher in the city, spiking in June.

"We need to further our understanding of how cities contribute to the mercury problem," said Lu. "[Some] forms of mercury stay in the atmosphere for a shorter duration and therefore negatively impact local and regional areas."

People looking to protect themselves from airborne contaminants may benefit from supplements containing antioxidants like those found in broccoli.

Researchers at UCLA found that the chemical compounds found in the vegetable help the body fight respiratory inflammation caused by outdoor contaminants.

The researchers say that while a body of research has developed supporting the idea that pesticides can cause disease in the brain later in life, which chemicals are the cause and why is still unclear.

In examining beta-HCH, they found that patients at the medical center were more likely to suffer from Parkinson’s disease if they had higher levels of the chemical in their bloodstream.

They added that 76 percent of those with the condition were found to have the pesticide in blood samples, compared to 40 percent of healthier people used as controls and 30 percent of patients who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease.

Beta-HCH was transmitted through the air and water supplies, the scientists note, and while genetic factors also come into play they are hopeful that more studies will strengthen the link between the chemical and its effect on older minds.

This special report from House Calls™ reveals that your household drinking water could be dangerous to your health!

This special report from House Calls™ reveals that your household drinking water could be dangerous to your health! Study results released from dozens of cities across America shows millions of folks are affected by drug residue found in their everyday water supply. Combine that with all the other dangerous toxins, chemicals and metals in your drinking water that slip right through your local water treatment facility, and you have thousands of good reasons not to turn on the tap! So what can you do? Read the following article to find out your hometown’s results before you take one single sip!

U.S. Drinking Water Contains Drugs and a Host of Other Toxins!

The test results are in—drug residue in America’s drinking water is affecting millions more Americans than was previously believed! In March, an investigation conducted by Associated Press (AP) reporters into the safety of your drinking water led to the results that revealed more than 41 million Americans were exposed to trace elements of pharmaceuticals found in their tap water.

But you the public wanted more! These results caused an outcry for required testing on a broader scale, and prompted local officials in more than 27 major cities to check out just what was in their drinking water.

The findings? Traces of all sorts of drug remnants were found in the water of 17 of the cities who have reported back! When you add those numbers to the results revealed from the earlier tests—at least 46 million of you are now drinking contaminated water every day!

Majority of Cities’ Water Goes Untested

But get this—thousands of cities DID NOT bother to check into the safety of their drinking water, including New York City. And even though council members in New York City strongly requested testing of the drinking water, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) indicated that it was not necessary “at this time.” And since New York City’s DEP alone provides water for more than nine million people, who knows what the contamination toll could actually be!

So while you are drinking what should be life-sustaining liquid, your body is being exposed to health-threatening substances such as cholesterol medication, forms of nicotine, anti-seizure drugs, tranquilizers, hormones and who can predict what other drugs that have slipped through the water treatment plants.

And with researchers finding that even minute amounts of pharmaceuticals are harmful to aquatic wildlife—and not to mention human cells—just imagine what dangerous events are set in motion with each “harmless” glass of water that you drink…

Think You’re Safe… Think Again

But if your water supply tested negative for drug contamination, you and your loved ones are safe, right? Don’t bet on it! What about the produce that is grown in other areas of the country—watered and washed with contaminated water, then transported right to your local grocery store and then on to your kitchen table?

And what about the other toxins that daily—or hourly—invade your water supply? Bacteria and viruses that can cause infectious diseases… toxic chemicals dumped into your water supply at a rate of billions of pounds per year… heavy metals such as arsenic, lead and mercury finding their way into your drinking water… even embalming fluid has been found!

As a matter of fact, because our drinking water is so contaminated, scientists no longer report on the purity of water—they refer to acceptable and unacceptable levels of contamination! This toxic soup can put you at risk for serious health problems such as high blood pressure… heart attacks… osteoporosis… arthritis… heavy metal poisoning… parasites… cancer… and more!

Drinking Water Becomes Russian Roulette

A study published in the American Journal of Public Health shows an estimated 35 percent of all gastrointestinal diseases are caused by contaminated drinking water from the tap. Assuming that the water in your home is safe enough to drink is like playing Russian roulette with your health!

Would it ensure the safety and the purity of the water you drink if you simply bought bottled water? Unfortunately not! The truth is—bottled water is LESS regulated for safety than your tap water.

What about using carbon water filters? They are ALMOST USELESS in removing toxins and parasites. And ultraviolet filters may kill most of the bacteria and viruses, but they do nothing to protect you from chemicals, lead and arsenic.

The bottom line is: the options available for water purification are just not working! Too many hazardous substances—drugs, chemicals, heavy metals, bacteria and viruses—are left floating around in your water, just waiting to wreak havoc with your health and your life.

There is Only ONE Water Distiller I Recommend

But for the sake of you and your family’s health, you MUST use only the cleanest, purest water possible. To ensure that you are not filling your body with dangerous liquid sludge, you must take action to find a water purification process you trust, and personally oversee it. Don’t just depend on the convenience of your city’s tap water—or you may be drinking a big, tall glass of toxic soup!

After extensive research and rigid testing, True Health™ has found only ONE water distiller I’m willing to recommend… It’s called the Waterwise 8800 Distiller/Purifier. And hands down, it ‘s the best way for you to get consistently pure water at home. The Waterwise 8800 Purifier guarantees you’re drinking clean… safe water. Because it effectively removes the chemicals… the parasites… the viruses… and all the other things you don’t want in your water.

So you can enjoy fresh… great tasting water all the time without risking your health.

And it’s really easy to use. You fill the Waterwise 8800 with tap water… push just one button and—voila! In a short time you’ve got a whole gallon of pure, delicious water ready to use. It’s that simple!

5 Great Reasons I Recommend Waterwise 8800 Purifier

Reason #1: You get the purest, healthiest water possible! The Waterwise 8800 effectively removes the chlorine, fluoride, bacteria, viruses, pesticides, lead and scores of other chemicals and toxins in your water. You can be confident you’re doing everything in your power to keep your family safe!
Reason #4: No installation costs or hard hookups! Nothing to put together or hookup! Just plug it into a regular outlet. That’s it!
Reason #5: You get the “Cadillac” of water purifiers! The Waterwise 8800 Purifier is the ONE & ONLY distiller/purifier to meet California’s stringent certification standards! No other distiller is in the same class when it comes to removing contaminants from your water.

Turn Off the Flow of Toxins Into Your Home!

You’ve seen the evidence: Thousands of chemicals, filthy bacteria, dangerous viruses, toxic heavy metals, drug residue and who can predict what other possible contaminants may appear—all in your drinking water—and putting you at great risk for digestive problems… high blood pressure… parasites… heart disease… osteoporosis… arthritis… and even cancer!

The fact is—your tap water can no longer be considered safe. And your water contamination did not start today… or yesterday… or even last year. You’ve had a lifetime of exposure! And even if your city is not among the ones tested—do not be lulled into a sense of security! We do not live in a vacuum—we are all connected; therefore, no one’s water is safe from toxins.

So the question is: Do you really want your family drinking water that puts them at risk?

I urge you to find out more about the Waterwise 8800 Purifier in your quest for a pure water source.
