By Dr. Michael Cutler • Oct 28th, 2009 • Category: Whole Food RecipesHere’s a yummy way to start your day—a healthy breakfast that tastes so delicious you’ll forget that it’s also good for you!
Apple Breakfast Wrap with Yogurt Sauce
2 apples, finely chopped
½ cup raw almonds
½ cup raisins
Sprouted whole-wheat tortillas
1 tsp cinnamon (OMIT if using yogurt sauce recipe below)
Yogurt Sauce (optional)
Mix apples, almonds, raisins and yogurt sauce (if desired) until fruit is well coated. In the microwave, warm the whole-wheat tortillas between lightly dampened paper towels. Spoon the fruit into the tortillas and fold one side over the fruit, then fold two of the remaining sides over the fruit, leaving only one end open (burrito style). Serve with more yogurt sauce on top, if desired.
Yogurt Sauce (optional)
1/3 cup plain yogurt
1 tsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon
Mix the yogurt, honey and cinnamon. Stir the yogurt sauce into the apples, serve over the top of your wrap—or a little of both, if you prefer. Now sit back, relax and enjoy!
